Transformers: The seventh live-action film in the series, Rise of the Beasts, is planned to be a tribute to Beast Wars and a sequel to Bumblebee. Steven Caple Jr. is in charge of the film's direction, and Joby Harold, Darnell Metayer, Josh Peters, Erich Hoeber, and Jon Hoeber wrote the script. The movie was originally scheduled to be released on June 28, 2019,[2]. However, it was repeatedly postponed until it was finally released on June 9, 2023,[3].

On March 27, 2015, Akiva Goldsman is hired by Paramount Pictures to create a "writer's room" with the goal of creating a cinematic universe.[4] Over the next few months, Goldsman hires a number of writers: Steven DeKnight (Daredevil), Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man), Christina Hodson (Shut In, The Fugitive), Lindsey Beer (Dig), Zak Penn (Pacific Rim 2), Jeff Pinkner (The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Lost), Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari (Ant-Man), Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down), and Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Black Hawk Down) are all One way or the other, Central will pick the best content for Transformers 7 and delivery that first.[16]
